I was undecided about this one or JB-62... Finally I got the JB-62 and my back was totally horrified about the weight with 10,30 pounds (4,7kg). I assume that the jazz bass guitars are always heavy...

Love my HB JB 75 Only down side is it's heavy ,but plays n sounds and looks great Ash body ,block inlays , binding $150 ?

The reversed blend knob is daft. Makes no sense and it's contrary to just about every other bass out there.

Vintage basses are sooooooooo good....the fit and finish, the components and the quality at its price point is ridiculous.....

Yeah, the "mudbucker" style pickup sounds deliciously good, but.. WIAT, THAT F**@1N' bridge 😬?! ...nope, that bridge was the reason because I switched from a Gibson/Epiphone to a Tokai (China) Thunderbird: the second has the Fender-style bridge, and sounds great too! Nice review Jonny, get yourself a beer! 🍻

A great demo, but actually awful conclusions. You dont mention the ability to load your own wav IRs, which according to the manual is utterly trivial, just name it with the slot number at the start and delete the old IR with that number. Your review conclusions only review the included IRs, which are literally worthless. You can grab hundreds of better ones free off tonehunt, and hundreds of other places. To not compare the same IR on this pedal and on an IR loader in your PC is an utter fail. To not review whether its easier to use this or just use your PC. What a waste of talent and opportunity. This could have been a truly epic review with your ability.

Hi Jonny. I’m looking at getting a P bass but as a leftie it’s a bit more challenging. Squier don’t even offer a left handed P bass anymore! Right now it’s between the Harley Benton MV-4P and the Sire P5. I have’t seen any reviews of the MV-4P yet, (non gotoh, non- PJ version) So if you’re stuck for an idea for a video, it would be great if you could review the Harley Benton MV 4P! Keep up the excellent work!

Looks lovely, but not sure I need a hollow body. Love the brand though, they consistently make solid gear at affordable prices, their unique Joe Doe and Revo guitars and basses are especially lovely to look at. Best of all, their custom shop offers the best value I’ve come across yet, and now I’m trying my best to resist buying more every payday…

I bought a G&L M2000 10 years ago. Over time I sold my other basses and never needed to buy more basses because the M2000 literally fit every gig and band I played in. I am breaking my decade long celibacy of buying basses just to get another G&L as a back up to my main. Straight up the most reliable and versatile bass ever. It really is just the best parts of a jazz bass and a stingray. Plus they don't go for crazy price (for now).

Been playing bass since 64. First bass was a Lindell dbl pu. Played it two years and sold it for $118.00. Current collection - 67 Gibson Eb2. 87 MIJ P bass. Carvin LB2. Steinberger headless. Guild acoustic bass. P bass is my favorite. Any questions?

Thank you for reviewing this with bass guitar! So I guess the newer and more affordable Harley Benton MicroCAB will not do for bass guitar since it lacks bass cabinet presets.. This Sonicake pedal seems hard to come by these days, but it's definitely the better choice.

I started as a bassist before moving to guitar later in life. The best advice I can say to any new bassist is to get a four-string P or J bass (it doesn't have to be Fender or Squier, just that basic type) and go to town. I started on a Yamaha with a single P pickup. It cost me ~$250 and I still wish I had held on to it 25 years later.

Gumby headstock. I just bought the walnut stain version,now I got to learn how to play a five string but on my four string basses I have them in a drop D configuration. I've thought about doing that with the E string on this bass as well because well,that what I play in with the group I'm performing with.

I love schecter 5 strings , but I use Leo fender basses for 4 string (p bass and a geddy lee) made in Mexico. Because the metrics system is superior

I bought a second hand (obviously, they haven't been in production for some time now) 2010 Schecter Diamond P Custom 4 about 4 months ago. I'm loving it. The build quality and features, the sound and feel - it's amazing, really. I have since A/B'd it with some very nice and expensive American made Fenders and a couple of Sadowski's, and the Schecter is still a win for me, it is really that good. $500 is all I paid. I'm very happy with it.

Do you have a video for bass guitars that a beginner should consider?

The sound of the pickup could be just a poor match or pot. Change it to higher ohm and loose some of the shrapness.

Patch preset FInger bass: plays with a pick

This is the first time I've seen ANY brand's USA model be so distinctly different -- and in this example, better. The Sub sounds good, and I wouldn't ignore it... but the EBMM actually has the distinctive StingRay sound. If it's possible to upgrade the pickups / wiring for less than 1000, the Sub might be the better option. (I have a black-on-black OLP StingRay I'm pleased with, but it's passive circuitry, so sounds pretty much like a Precision.)

How about a sub $500 Sire V3 bass against both of these you are testing in this video. How would that stand up to these?

Is it possible to remove the pickguard and still look good?
